We have stayed at the Country Inn at the Mall in Bangor for many years, and they are again extending a special group discount for Duggan Ski Group members. Many find Bangor a handy stopping point to break up the drive either on the way to or from Sunday River.

Hard to believe it is December already; although the chill in the air lately has definitely felt like winter.

This is a friendly reminder availability at the hill is extremely limited for March vacations. Everything has been booking so much quicker this year than we have ever seen in the past. If you are having any issues with booking through the online booking links, please call Sunday River to see if there is anything available. The number to call is 1-800-543-2754. This will allow you to book lodging and lift tickets.

You must tell the booking agent you are with the Duggan Ski Group at the time of booking to receive our exclusive pricing as this is not available to the general public. Specifically, you should refer to booking reference “Duggan Ski Group” and reservation # 86B0JS.

We don’t want to see anyone miss out if you are hoping to come this year! 🙂

Today was officially the opening day at Sunday River for the 2022/2023 season!

With the increased interest now that the hill has opened, along with the Boston ski show happening this weekend, Sunday River is expecting the remaining rooms will sell quickly. Please don’t miss out if you are planning a March trip. Our current rates are set until December 15th, after this date we are expecting another increase.

We have updated the Booking at Sunday River page with the details on the new pricing; there are increases for lodging rates (around 5%) as well as slight increases on the March passports (increase of $10 for junior passes and $20 for adults). These newest rates are valid to December 15th, 2022, so keep that in mind if you are considering a trip! As well, as we mentioned recently, there has been a high demand for booking so always good to book early if you are set on a particular hotel and trip week! 🙂

Adding a bit more insight into our previous post: March 5th – 10th is going very quickly!!

The only rooms available at the Summit during this week are Standard Rooms (2 beds). These do not have a kitchenette but we are told these do come with a mini fridge, and there are some toaster ovens available on a first come first serve basis.

There is still some availability at the Jordan in the different room styles, as of this morning.

Please do not miss out if you want to come along this year!!! Also remember, rates are set to increase November 1st.

March 12th – 17th still has availability at both resorts, but rooms are being booked quickly this year. We will try and keep everyone updated when we see the availability change, but will say this is really a first to be only the end of October and have so little available already.

If you are not following us on Facebook, you may have missed the recent good news post: the prices did not go up on October 15th as expected! Prices are now set to change November 1; we are told the increase will be approximately 6 – 10% compared to the current rate.

So, if you were kicking yourself on missing the lowest price – you still have a bit more time 😉

Also, a few booking tips to share:

• When booking multiple rooms, the system does not give a way to link the rooms together. If you have room preferences or are booking multiple rooms, you are encouraged to add a comment in the comment field during the booking process. This is the best way to note your information, and although there are no guarantees when making requests – it certainly can’t hurt to ask.
• If you are having trouble purchasing a March passport (we were!) you need to ensure you have added in your Canadian address to your account. The March Passport is a special Canadian deal, and so it will not let you purchase without the address. ***Update: we are still seeing issues with this, even when a Canadian postal code is used – if you are still having trouble purchasing please call Sunday River directly to speak with one of their Vacation Sales Specialists at 1-800-543-2754 and reference the DUGGAN SKI GROUP.

Due to circumstances outside of our control, we have decided to cancel our February trip option. Not to worry, our March trips are still a go! Hope you can join us on one of the March weeks.

One last item, we have had questions on bringing pets along and unfortunately Sunday River does not allow pets in the accommodations.  

Just a friendly reminder – the quoted rates you see on our site and on the Sunday River site are set to increase on October 15th! We at the Duggan Ski Group do not know the details of how much they may increase, but have been told to expect something. The retail pricing without our group rate is currently dynamic, and changing based on demand, but is at least 5 – 15% higher than the prices using our code. Our group rate is locked in until October 15th 😉

If you are planning to book for this upcoming March, now is when you will find the lowest rates!

March 2023 (March 5 – 10, March 12 – 17, March 19 – 24, 2023)

• Lodging: Book through the Reservation System here; Duggan Ski Group code is automatically applied. The Duggan Ski Group code for March is 86B0JS if the code doesn’t seem to apply.
• March Passport (lift tickets): Purchase separately from your lodging, here. (Passport rates are also current to October 15, 2022)

Would also love some feedback on interest in the February trip. Sunday River sees a pretty high demand during February and so it will be tricky for us to hold on to available rooms as time goes on.
